At Trackon Courier Tracking, we believe in transparent and fair pricing for our courier services. To achieve this, we sometimes need to calculate the volumetric weight of shipments, especially when light-weight consignments occupy a larger space due to their dimensions. Understanding how we calculate volumetric weight is essential for both our customers and our operations. Below, we provide a breakdown of volumetric weight calculations for various modes and shipments.

Volumetric Weight Calculations

Domestic Surface Mode:

Volumetric Weight = (Length x Breadth x Height) / 5000 in centimeters

Domestic Air Mode:

Volumetric Weight = (Length x Breadth x Height) / 6000 in centimeters

Road Express:

Volumetric Weight = (Length x Breadth x Height) / 4500 in the centimeters (cm)

International Shipments:

Volumetric Weight = (Length x Breadth x Height) / 5000 in centimeters

Additional Considerations

For parcels with a length of more than 110 cm in Air mode and 180 cm in Surface mode, the weight will be charged double. Similarly, for single pieces exceeding 80 kg, an added cost and prior approval from our operations department are required.

Why Volumetric Weight Matters

Volumetric weight ensures that we charge for shipping based on the space your consignment occupies rather than its actual weight. This approach helps us optimize cargo space, reduce shipping costs, and minimize environmental impact.
